Here's The Thing...

... it's been so long that I've been actively pursued by anyone that I don't know how to process it... if I see it at all. When people compliment me, I deflect it so violently that if it wasn't a joke before, it was when I was done. I don't know how to turn that defense mechanism off. Guess I'll be single for a while longer... and that's okay. Lessons need to be learned.
