I'm Not Lucky
I'm not. Never have been. Sure, I've hit a hot spot. I won $10,000 once in a random act of fate. I won the first This Town's Got Talent. I've landed on my feet when it seemed it would be on my head. But, over 45 years, those are isolated moments, not a trend. Yet.
I happened to be struck by lightning. Love. A Real Love.
I don't deserve it. I don't think anyone deserves a Real Love. It's a gift bestowed, one that is given then must be earned. I think that's why so many people don't have it. Because they were gifted it and dismissed it because they didn't know what they had.
Me? My eyes are open. Can I earn it? I hope I'm strong enough to do so.
